Scope: Concept Design
Located on a large estate on the shores of the Arabian Gulf, the client’s brief was for a private office, sited in a small unutilized courtyard that is bounded by existing construction.
The architectural concept places an iconic oval form into the space, utilizing solid walls and mass to close views towards existing construction, while the remainder of the form uses tall slots of glass to open to the views outside. The client’s brief is transformed into a spacious double-volume library, flooded with light and clad in warm, natural materials.
The rooftop is crowned with a pergola structure, creating an outdoor room that is shaded from the Middle Eastern sun, gaining views onto the Arabian Gulf beyond.
