Private Villa, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

owned by  PRIVATE

Scope: Architecture

The design of this private residence is an extensive alteration to an existing villa, sited on the Red Sea.  The design transforms the existing layout of disconnected spaces with an internal focus into a well-thought-out progression of interconnected spaces, based on the client’s brief.  What was an inward-looking space now connects to the spaces outside and beyond, tempered and layered with overhangs, a balcony, and a large shaded porch, all which create shaded outdoor rooms, breaking down the barrier between inside and outside in a way appropriate to the site and the climate.
